Greetings everyone!

A few years ago we took our portfolio of cutting edge SoCal events overseas for the New Century. With an impressive 12-year production run spanning from 1989 to 2000 behind us, we boldly produced the successful Millennium event for the country of Malaysia and followed it up with the ACA World Sound Festival in Acapulco, Mexico. We went global, and for awhile I thought "Wow. The world is finally at peace. It's going to be smooth sailing from here on out..."

None of us knew how quickly the planet was about to change, and in the following years I was faced with the greatest challenges of my life. Our events have been affected by an Act of War in the Americas, the SARS epidemic in Asia which closed down Asian nightlife for a time, and a freak hurricane in Mexico that may be linked to the early stages of global warming.

Producing events around the world has taught me a lot about rhythm and beats. There is a rhythm to life, to working, and to music. When we are in tune with our environment, the various rhythms in our lives sync up to form the perfect "beat." When it comes to producing a perfect night of dancing and music, our ideal event unites the best we can give each other: the best open minded people, the best sound system, the best location, and the best talent lineup. Each one of these elements, these beats, syncs up to create a synergistic mix of party, people, and music.

The big question is, in a world like this - a world that makes more guns than solar panels - can we catch that perfect groove? Yes, but nothing comes easy. In the old days we fought for the basic freedom to express ourselves and created a new, and widely accepted, electronic lifestyle. Now, with the path the world walks perilously on, we need to stay focused on bringing the positive conscious "in" and putting it back "out." Positive energy must flow from us for things to get better.

Improvements have to start at home, in our community. Our tools are beats, words, chat rooms, images, videos, smiles, and social gatherings. Be the peacekeeper and bring in the good news, spread positively and let the bad news fade away. Support nonprofits, support activism, keep up with United Nations, and remember without the health of the World there are no perfect beats. Internet, broadband, cheap travel, and affordable technology are making a ‘new’ Global Renaissance possible. This could be The New Golden Age. You will know it when the beats are riding with you, within you, and all around you.
